Finch & timber was born from a lifelong love of art, craftsmanship, and faith.
After 27 years as a high school educator-- most of those teaching art-- I stepped into retirement with a heart still deeply drawn to creating. Teaching shaped not only my skills, but my belief in patience, care, and doing things well. Those values continue to guide every piece I create today.
I began painting this nativity for my church, never intending it to become more than a personal offering. But as the display took shape, I witnessed the quiet joy, reflection, and emotion it stirred in others. People lingered. They smiled. They felt something. In that moment, I realized this work was meant to be shared.
Each piece I paint is created slowly and intentionally. I want it to feel special, thoughtful, and worthy of the story it tells. From the first cut of wood to the final seal, every detail matters to me-- because I believe art has the power to invite reflection, warmth, and reverence.
This work is a gift, and I am deeply grateful to be using the gift God has given me to honor Him. Creating these pieces -- whether it be the nativity or other event or holiday creations-- is both a joy and a calling, and it is my hope that they bring peace, joy, and meaning wherever they are displayed.
Thank you for allowing my work to be part of your space and your story.
