At Finch & Timber, every piece is handcrafted and hand-painted. We want you to know what to expect when ordering, how shipping works, and what we’ll do if something goes wrong.

Shipping

Shipping options and any applicable shipping charges will be shown during checkout.

When free shipping is offered for an order, there is no additional standard shipping charge to the customer.

At this time, orders placed through our website are intended for delivery within the United States unless otherwise expressly arranged with Finch & Timber.

Production and Fulfillment Times

Finch & Timber artwork is made by hand in limited quantities. Some pieces may be available and ready to ship, while others may need to be produced after an order is placed.

Any production, fulfillment, or shipping timeframe provided on our website or in communications with you is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date unless we expressly state otherwise.

If an unusual delay occurs that significantly affects your order, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you.

Delivery

Once an order has been transferred to the shipping carrier, delivery timing may be affected by circumstances outside Finch & Timber’s control.

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address when ordering.

If you notice an error in your shipping information, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has been shipped.

Damaged Shipments

We take care in preparing and packaging our artwork for shipment. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery so we can help make it right.

Please email dawn@finchandtimber.com and include:

  • Your name and order number
  • A description of the damage
  • Photographs of the damaged piece
  • Photographs of the shipping box and packaging
  • Photographs of any visible damage to the shipping container

Please retain the artwork and all original packaging while the issue is being resolved. The shipping carrier may require photographs, packaging, or other documentation as part of a damage claim.

Depending on the circumstances, Finch & Timber may repair the piece, replace it, provide an appropriate refund, or offer another reasonable resolution.

Please do not return a damaged item unless we provide return instructions.

Incorrect Orders

If you receive an item different from what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at dawn@finchandtimber.com.

We will work with you to correct the order at no additional cost to you.

Handmade Artwork and Natural Variations

Each Finch & Timber piece is handcrafted and hand-painted. No two pieces will be exactly alike.

Reasonable differences in brushwork, color, shading, texture, wood grain, dimensions, construction, positioning, and other handmade details are part of the character of the artwork and are not considered defects.

Colors may also appear somewhat different in person than they do in photographs because of lighting, photography, screens, and device settings.

Natural handmade variation is not considered damage and is not, by itself, grounds for a return or refund.

Change-of-Mind Returns

Because our artwork is handcrafted, produced in limited quantities, and in many cases made specifically to fulfill an order, Finch & Timber does not accept returns or provide refunds simply because a customer changes their mind after receiving a correctly fulfilled, undamaged order.

We encourage customers to review product photographs, descriptions, dimensions, and other information carefully before ordering.

If you have a question about a piece before purchasing, please contact us. We would much rather answer your questions before an order is placed.

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, contact us at dawn@finchandtimber.com as soon as possible.

If production or preparation of your order has not yet begun, we will generally be able to cancel the order and issue a refund.

Once production, customization, packaging, or other significant fulfillment work has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Orders that have already shipped cannot be cancelled.

Defective Products

If you believe your piece has a genuine workmanship or manufacturing defect, please contact us with your order information and photographs showing the issue.

We will review the circumstances and work with you toward an appropriate resolution.

Normal handmade variation, normal aging, weathering, fading, finish wear, wood movement, damage caused by improper installation or storage, misuse, neglect, or extraordinary weather conditions are not considered manufacturing defects.

Approved Refunds

When Finch & Timber approves a refund, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method.

After we submit a refund, additional processing time may be required by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider before the funds appear in your account.

Shipping charges, when applicable, are generally non-refundable unless the refund results from an error by Finch & Timber or a damaged or defective shipment for which we accept responsibility.

Unauthorized Returns

Please do not ship an item back to Finch & Timber without contacting us first and receiving return instructions.

Because of the size, value, and handmade nature of our artwork, we need to determine the appropriate handling and shipping method before a product is returned.

Finch & Timber is not responsible for products returned without authorization or contrary to the return instructions we provide.
