The Angel
With wings outstretched and one hand extended in welcome, the Angel brings a sense of grace and quiet wonder to the Nativity. Her expression is peaceful, her presence gentle yet commanding — a reminder of the heavenly message at the heart of the Christmas story: Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy.
Standing approximately five feet tall, the Angel has an extraordinary presence in person. Every feather, fold of her garments, strand of hair, and delicate feature of her face is individually handcrafted and hand-painted by Finch & Timber. At this scale, creating the subtle transitions of light, color, texture, and expression requires countless hours of patient, exacting work.
She is made not simply to accompany the Nativity, but to watch over it — a beautiful and enduring figure of peace, hope, and the joyful promise of Christmas.

About This Piece
Craftsmanship & Details
Handcrafted for the Nativity
The Angel is one of the most commanding figures in the Finch & Timber Nativity Collection. Standing approximately five feet tall, she combines an impressive physical presence with a peaceful expression and graceful posture, creating a figure intended to draw the eye while preserving the reverence of the Nativity scene.
Creating a figure of this scale entirely by hand requires many hours of patient, detailed craftsmanship. Her face and expression, flowing garments, hair, expansive wings, and individual feather details are carefully developed and hand-painted, with particular attention given to the subtle changes in color, highlight, and shadow that give the figure depth and life.
Her wings are among the defining features of the piece. Their size provides a broad canvas for extensive hand-painted feather work, allowing variations in tone and individual details to emerge when the Angel is viewed up close. From a distance she creates a striking silhouette; in person, the hours of handwork become increasingly apparent as the viewer approaches.
Because each Angel is individually handcrafted and hand-painted, variations in color, brushwork, texture, alignment, and finish are natural and expected. These differences are part of the character of the work, and no two will be precisely identical.
