The Cow
The Cow brings a wonderfully peaceful presence to the manger. Resting quietly near the Holy Family, she feels like part of the stillness of that first Christmas night — a humble creature sharing her shelter with a family far from home.
Handcrafted and hand-painted by Finch & Timber, the Cow is given remarkable character through her gentle expression, softly modeled markings, and carefully painted details. Many hours of handwork go into creating the subtle shifts of color, light, shadow, and texture that give this large-scale figure warmth and dimension.
She doesn’t demand attention. She simply belongs there — which may be exactly what makes her such a lovely part of the scene.

About This Piece
Craftsmanship & Details
Handcrafted for the Nativity
The Cow is an original Finch & Timber Nativity figure, individually handcrafted and hand-painted to bring warmth, scale, and the humble character of the stable to the larger Nativity scene.
Careful attention is given to her gentle expression, distinctive markings, face, ears, and form. Subtle transitions of color, highlight, shadow, and texture are developed by hand to create visual depth while preserving the quiet character of the figure.
As with the principal figures of the Nativity, creating a supporting figure at this scale requires many hours of patient painting and finishing. The Cow is designed to feel fully considered from a distance while rewarding a closer look at the brushwork and individual details.
Because each piece is individually handcrafted and hand-painted, variations in color, brushwork, texture, alignment, and finish are natural and expected. These differences are part of the character of the work, and no two will be precisely identical.
